Field Preparation
Test before you amend
A current soil test tells you what the ground needs. Amending on habit rather than data is how growers spend money without changing an outcome.
Look at drainage honestly
Walk the block after heavy rain and note where water sits. Those areas will behave differently all season and are worth planning around.
Handle weed pressure before planting
Early competition is difficult to recover from. A prepared seedbed does more for a stand than anything applied afterwards.
Growing resources are educational only. They are not legal advice and they are not a substitute for your own agronomic judgement. Growers must follow local, state, federal, and licensing requirements that apply to their site. Licensed growers and distribution partners only.
